Granville County — This holiday season, the Granville County Public Schools District Social Workers have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that families across the community feel supported, cared for, and remembered. Their dedication has resulted in a remarkable achievement: securing sponsorships for 129 families in need of Christmas assistance.

From coordinating with local organizations to connecting with generous community members, the district’s social workers have spent countless hours spreading light and love during a time when many families face financial hardship. Through their efforts, children will wake up to gifts, warm clothing, and essential items, while parents receive a moment of relief knowing their community stands behind them.

“This initiative is about more than presents—it’s about hope,” said one school social worker. “We’re incredibly grateful for every sponsor who stepped in to make this season brighter.”

The program’s success would not be possible without the compassion and generosity of individuals, businesses, churches, and civic groups who eagerly took part in sponsoring families. Their willingness to give—whether through purchasing gifts, donating funds, or wrapping presents—demonstrates the true spirit of the season. One sponsor shared  “it’s one thing to help a child but knowing that I’m helping a child and our community makes it even more special.”

Granville County Public Schools extends heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors for helping share joy, dignity, and love with neighbors who need it most. Thanks to them, 129 families will experience the warmth of the community this Christmas.

As the holidays approach, the district hopes this wave of kindness inspires others to continue looking for ways to uplift and support one another—not just in December, but all year long.
